Prayer Campaign: Day 33

Praying for Prisoners
"I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me" (Matthew 25:35)

Let´s pray today for the prisoners, especially Brazilians.
Let´s pray for repentance and changing of their lives, truly. Pray that the time they remain detained be a time for rehabilitation and not to get worse.
Let´s pray for prisoners´ families. Pray for wisdom, that they help in the recovering process and don´t help in the maintenance of the criminal actions.
Let´s pray for the officials of Brazilian prison system.
Pray for the Christian groups who vist the jails taking a friendly and blessed word to those places.

In Matthew 19:21 Jesus Christ said :"Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
Jesus Christ has challenged the rich young man in his weakest point : its riches . He was not willing to give more value to Christ than his property.
Does this statement of Jesus Christ mean that all Christians must sell everything they own ? No, because we must meet the needs of our family and other people's . We must , however , be willing to give up all that Jesus asks of us. Our dedication to Jesus could not be anything less than this.

One of the activities of Jesus Christ in His mission, directed by the Holy Spirit, was " evangelize the poor " , see Luke 4:18, Isaiah 61:1 . In other words the gospel of Jesus Christ can be defined as a gospel to the poor , see Matthew 5:3 ; 11.5 , Luke 7:22 , James 2.5.

The "poor " meant by Jesus Christ in Greek is "ptochos" which means the lowly and afflicted of this world, who cry out to God in great need , seeking help. But who at the same time , are faithful to God and are waiting for the full redemption of God´s people, from sin , suffering , hunger and hatred that prevails here in the world .

    Your wealth and your life does not consist in things of this world , see Psalm 22:26 ; 72.2,12,13 ; 147.6 , Isaiah 11.4 , 29.19 , Luke 6:20 , John 14.3 .

Freedom from suffering , oppression , injustice and poverty surely will come to the poor of God , see Luke 6.21.

Who wins souls is wise .

Maranatha Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior .
