October 17

"The Lord then said to Noah, "Go into the ark, you and your whole family , because I have found you righteous in this generation. Take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and one pair of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate, and also seven pairs of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth. Seven days from now I will send raind on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made." And Noah did all that the Lord commanded him. Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters came on the earth." (Genesis 7:1-6)

The Ark and The Church

  • Places of diversity
  • Places of unity
  • Places for salvation. It´s a safe place! Outside both, only death and destruction
  • To live there you will have to submit yourself to rules
  • Inside no one is more important... You have a leader and his helpers, and the survivors, very different but with the same importance

Do not jump out of the ark!

"But God remembered Noah and all the animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded."  "After forty days Noah opened a window he had made in the ark and sent out a raven, and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth. Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark. When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beack was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth. He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return to him." (Genesis 8:1, 6-12)

Noah needed to know how it was out of the Ark. He decides to drop out two different birds: a raven and a dove.
Ravens feed on almost everything and also roteness. Doves can´t.
Ravens are associated with death and dirt while doves are a symbol of hope, peace, holiness.

Noah realeases the crow
  •  It flies back and forth. It ate everything. Like some church members that come and go, stretching hands inside the church but also stretching hands outside to receive offerings from the devil. People who take advantage from the shelter of the church to be protected from life storms, but as long as the storm ceases, they fly away.
  • Raven is not commited to others
  • The only thing the raven brought back was a bad breath. Like people who have nothing to give but bad feelings, criticisms, emotional trash

Noah releases a dove
  • At first, it cannot find rest for its feet. As you sometimes can´t feel peace when invited to parties or when an opportunity of investment or business comes to your hands. The Holy Spirit makes you feel this way. So, "return to the Ark"!
  • And another time Noach sends the dove and it brings an olive branch, that represents new life. Be like this dove and bring good news.
  • Bear fruits!
  • And again Noah sent the dove but it did not return. When you get mature enough, spiritually, God will sent you to do His work.

October 3rd

"2 He had two wives; one was called Hannah and the other Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah had none. 4 Whenever the day came for Elkanah to sacrifice, he would give portions of the meat to his wife Peninnah and to all her sons and daughters. 5 But to Hannah he gave a double portion because he loved her, and the Lord had closed her womb. 6 Because the Lord had closed Hannah´s womb, her rival kept provoking her in order to irritate her. 7This went on year after year. Whenever Hannah went up to the house of the Lord, her rival provoked her till she wept and would not eat." (1 Samuel 1:2, 4-7)

Our God is a God of compensations!

Hannah didn´t have children and Peninnah had children. However their husband loved more Hannah, although she didn´t give him children. This is a compensation.

To Peninnah and her children, Elkanah used to give portions of the meat. But to Hannah, Elkanah used to give a double portion. Hannah was alone, but she received more love and a double portion...

Hannah was provoked year after year... And nobody likes to be provoked... Every time she went to the church she was provoked till the point of crying...

Evil people can provoke you saying they have exactly what you want!

"As she kept on praying to the Lord, Eli observed her mouth. Hannah was praying in her heart, and her lips were movint but her voice was hot hear. Eli thought she was drunk and said to her, "How long are you going to stay drunk? Put awa your wine."" Not so, my lord," Hannah replied, "I am a women who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the Lord. Do not take your servant for a wicked woman; I have been praying here out my great anguish and grief." (1Samuel 1:12-16)

Hannah did not replied to the provokation... She did not behave the same way her rival did. She waited for the Lord! She presented to the Lord her problem.

Although sometimes we wish to give a natural solution, if we keep on answering to provocation, if we keep on provoking, this will never cease!

"Eli answered, "Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of him." She said, "May your servant find favor in your eyes. "Then she went her way and ate something, and her face was no longer downcast." (1 Samuel 1:17-18)

Hannah did not received immediately her request. She did not left the presence of the priest pregnant.

You will not probably receive your miracle in a sudden. You will have to wait upon the Lord.

But after praying, as Hannah, you will be filled by peace! You will be able to rise up your head!

Hannah was not pregnant yet, but she got rid of sorrow... She could eat! Depressed people, said people usually stop eating.

"Early the next morning they arose and worshiped before the Lord and then went back to their home at Ramah. Elkanah made love to his wife Hannah, and the Lord remembered her. So in the course of time Hannah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, saying, "Because I asked the Lord for him." "(1 Samuel 1:19-20)
