Be a Blessing
By Ícaro

"The memory of the rigtheous will be a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot."
Proverbs 10:7

Help other people.
  • Is it easy to help other people?
  • Aren't you
           The good samaritan                               Busy                                                Complaining

Help show follow this model
Romans 12: 9-13
"Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practice hospitality."

Be merciful
Overcome evil with GOOD
  • "Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister."(Romans 14:13)
  • "Be merciful to those who doubt; save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear - hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh."(Jude 1:22,23)

Attention!
  • (Romans 12:9-13) Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
  • (Jude 1:22) Be merciful to those who doubt; save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear - hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.

Do not complain.
  • Pray or talk to God (accept the tasks He gives you). Ask God for strength, wisdom, patience and more strength to overcome your problems.
  • Complaining (demand that God changes the situation)

God will enable you.
  • He says, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."(Psalm 46:10)
  • The part A of this verse says: Be still. Be calm. If God chooses you to help somebody He will give you the skills to do what He wants you to do.
  • The part B shows that God doesn't need us to do something. But He gives you the opportunity to be a blessing to somebody.
  • When you start being a blessing, people start asking you why you are different from the other people.
  • The memory of the righteous will be a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot. (Proverbs 10:7)
  • If you do good things you will be remembered.

                                                   God’s Purpose
Pr.Silvana

Psalm 138.8

The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me;
your love, o Lord, endures forever — do not abandon the works of your hands.”

  • God has a purpose for me (for each one of us). His purpose is perfect.
  • What’s  “purpose”?:
  • - reason, intent, intention, plan, aim, goal, cause, meaning, project, target, objective...
  •  God’s purpose can be…
- general  (salvation; the Kingdom of God; the Church, the body of Christ; all that has to do with God’s plan to reconcile mankind with Himself, the Creator).
- specific (a personal calling, to do a specific task in the Kingdom of God).
  • The Lord will fulfill His purpose FOR ME…” =  “The Lord will work out His plans for my life; The Lord you will do everything He has planned for me.”
  • “To fulfill a purpose” means “to do what is intended to do; what is supposed to be done.”
  • “Living on purpose is the only way to really live. Everything else is just existing.” (Rick Warren - The Purpose Driven Life)
  • When you realize, find out God’s purpose for your life, everything changes. Your life changes. The way you see things changes. You don’t care about  what people say against you…
  • Don’t be a “4 S BELIEVER”: Saved, Seated, Satisfied, Sleepy   (by Pr Rodrigo)
  •  Find out what is God’s purpose for your life. How?
  •  - Pray. But don’t pray only. Go further. Beyond praying, start serving God and people. Do something to serve in the Kingdom of God. Then, soon, God will put you in the right place planned only for you.
  • ž It will be the motivation of your life; it will make you happy; it will bring you pleasure; it will take most of your concerns; your life will turn around it.
  • žBE CAREFUL!!!  The enemy will try to distract you, to take you out of God’s purpose. Be focused. First things first. (Matthew 6.33)
  • ž Ephesians 4:11-16

“It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be            evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”
  • ž Acts 13:36a
“For when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation
he fell asleep…”

We were born and were called with a purpose. Let’s serve God’s purpose for our life, in this present generation.

Listen to this song and sing along as a prayer… “This is my desire… to be used by You, Lord!”

“Praise  the  Lord, O  my  soul”
Pr. Silvana

Psalm 103.1-5
Praise the Lord, O my soul;  all my inmost being, praise His holy name.
Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits —
who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
This is one of the most beautiful psalms written by David. Sometimes we have to say to ourselves to “praise the Lord and never forget His benefits”, as David did. It’s easy to complain and forget all good things the Lord has done for us.

In verses 3 to 5 we can learn five things God does for us:

Verse 3
  • God forgives...
  • When we don’t confess our sins, they become like a heavy load on us, preventing us to go ahead. Don’t be overloaded by your sins. Get rid of your sins. Be forgiven. Forgive yourself and forgive others too.

(Ps. 130.8, I John 1.9, Mat. 6.14-15)

  • God heals...
  • God heals the body, but also the soul, the heart. Many people get sick because they need healing in their soul first. Be healthy (emotionally, spiritually, physically).
  • (Jeremiah 17.14, Ps. 147.3)

Verse 4
  • God redeems...
  • God has provided salvation, redemption for us. Be redeemed (saved) from destruction (death, evil).
  • (Job 19.25)

  • God crowns...
  • Crown is a symbol of honor, authority, power. It fits well on queens and kings. Be crowned with salvation, love, compassion, righteousness.
  • (Psalm  149.4, II Tim. 4.8)

Verse 5

  • God satisfies…
  • If we delight in the Lord, He will satisfy the desires of our heart. Have your desires satisfied with good things  (Psalm 37.4)

After all these blessings, we still have a wonderful promise:
  • “... so that your  youth  is renewed  like the  eagle’s.”   (Is. 40.29-31)

When Moses and Caleb were old, they were still very strong: Moses (Deut. 34.7), Caleb (Joshua 14.10-11).

May God give you strength and make you able to overcome the enemies!

Praise the Lord!
