The Fellowship of the First Believers
Acts 2:42-47

"They devoted themselves to the apostles´ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."
  • They dedicated themselves to learning and we imitate them. You come to church to learn. Every meeting in the church or small groups has a message for you. Even if you know the Bible by heart, believe there is something else new for you to learn.
  • They recognized the authority  of the apostles. Do you recognize the importance of your pastor? Do you love your church? Do you stand up for it? Do you guard it?
  • They devoted to fellowship. Coming to church is a chance  to meet your friends. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
  • They shared food and prayers.  It´s very important to eat together. Jesus did this several times. He also prayed together. And those christians were together praying. This way they were calling Jesus´presence.
"Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles."
  • They were not afraid, they feared God. The presence of God was so real that they wanted to stay together. They were witnessing miracles! (Mark 16:17)
"All the believers were together and had everything in common."
  • They were United under the same doctrine. They were all baptized. They were been trained to heaven!
  • If you are coming to church and you don´t like this Christian environment (the praises, the worship...) what are you expecting from heaven?
"Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need."
  • When we are together celebrating, we have the chance to share something we have as food, juice... That´s part of your propoerty.
  • God can ask you for something else. (Matthew 19:21)
  • Pay attention you will be charged for everything that comes to your hand to do. (Colossians 3:23-24; Ecclesiastes 9:10)
  • Remember that your property goes beyond what money can buy.
"Everyday they continued to meet together in the temple courts, They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,"
  • They had services everyday in the temple. Those who couldn´t be at the temple brake bread in their houses. We also can do this! Getsêmani Church has services daily, also in the 67 missions!
  • Gather your Family! Visit a church in you neighborhood! Promote services at home!Offer your house to host a cell group! Share a devotional book with a friend using internet!
"praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."
  • The number of saved people was increasing!
  • They were happy people! They sang, they celebrated, they rejoiced in the Lord!
  • They were nice! Others liked them! They were pleasant people!
  • Their number was increasing of course because of the actoin of God. But, the way they behaved counted. No one likes to be close to boring people... Or a murmurer...
