"When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me." (1 Corinthians 13:11)
 
"At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. " (Matthew 18:1-4)
 
 
How come?
Is this a contradiction?
When we were born again we were like babies, spiritual babies.
You can´t be a child forever.
We must grow up, spiritually speaking.
Many people confess Jesus but they don´t grow!
You may have your spiritual growth.
For some period of time it´s good to be cared.
It´s good to be helped by others to pray, to understand the Bible... But for a period! You must grow!
Children behaving as adults don´t fit well.
 
Jesus never saird to children to do this!
Jesus said to adults to behave as children.
 
Ecclesiastes 3: 7b: "a time to be silent and a time to speak,"
Children never know when to keep quiet!
 
James 3:8-10: "but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. 10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. "
Children tend to say whatever they want.
 
Proverbs 10:11: "The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life. but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence."
Proverbs 10:13a "Wisdom is found on the lips of the discerning,"
What is found in your lips?
 
Proverbs 10:19: "Sin is not ended by multiplying words,
    but the prudent hold their tongues"
Hold your tongue!

Proverbs 12:14: "From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things,
    and the work of their hands brings them reward."
What is the fruit you are bearing?
 
Proverbs 12:18b: "but the tongue of the wise brings healing."
A good word is medicine for life!
 
Proverbs 13:3: "Those who guard their lips preserve their lives,
    but those who speak rashly will come to ruin."
Now that I am an adult in Christ I must be wise.
 
Proverbs 15:1: "A gentle answer turns away wrath,
    but a harsh word stirs up anger"
Proverbs 15:4: "The soothing tongue is a tree of life,
    but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit."
What kind of tongue do you have?
 
Philippians 4:8: "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."
Now that he have grown up we can´t be peaceless, jealous, envious, agressive...
 
Philippians 2:5-11: In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant,
    being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man,
    he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
 
We must
 
think, talk, behave, pray
 
as adults in Christ!
 
Put childish behind and grow up.
But at the same time be as child depending on God.
Know that the Lord cares for you!
Rest in the Lord!
Humble yourself confessing that you can´t live by your own!
