Team Work

Unity

UNITY is a situation in which a group of people work together for a particular purpose.

In John 17.11b Jesus prayed for His disciples asking for UNITY: "...Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name - the name you gave me - so that they may BE ONE as we are one." Jesus also prayed for all believers, asking again for UNITY in verse 21: "That all of them may BE ONE, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me."

- There's power in UNION. Nobody can do anything alone. Successful companies, organizations, work in groups, teams, partnership.

- Jesus Himself chose 12 disciples and trained, equipped, taught, prepared  and worked with them.

- Eccl. 4.12 says "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." - UNION is powerful!!!

- Proverbs 18.1 says "A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; he rages against all wise judgment."

- BE ONE: as Ephesians 4.3-6, 13 says "Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all...until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."

As we have ONE God, we are ONE church, members of ONE body,  let's ask the Lord to give us ONE mind, ONE thought, ONE vision, ONE purpose, ONE desire, ONE heart and walk in UNITY, so that the world may believe in Jesus. Let's work together!!! PSALM 133: "How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!  It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the LORD bestows his blessing, even life forevermore."

STEWARDSHIP

Stewardship is…
… to be in charge of / to administer / to manage somebody’s properties, possessions, etc.

Biblical Stewardship is…
…using what God has put into our hands, knowing that it’s a trust from God to be used in His service, for the benefit of all mankind.

What God has put into your hands?
Family, friends, relationships, money, job, time, car, house, food, possessions, health, body…

Who is a steward?
A steward is a person who…
- …is placed in charge of something …
- …for someone.

The steward understands and recognizes that God is the only owner of everything.  Psalm 24.1 - “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.”

Example 1: Adam was put in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. (Gn. 2.15). But he was not a good steward and God cast him out of the Garden of Eden.

Example 2: Joseph was placed in charge of Potiphar’s home, the prisoners and Egypt as Governor. God was with him and he was a good steward. (Gn. 39.1-23, 41.33-39)

REFLECTION
What kind of steward am I?
Am I using what God has put in my hands to benefit people around me?
What am I doing with all things God has trusted me?

    Overcoming Humiliation! Being a blessing!

The Bible shows us how to behave in all situations. If you suffered with humilation, a good example is the life of  King Hezekiah. (2 Kings 18:1-8; 2 Chronicles 29:3-5).
He is considered one of the greatest kings of Judah because of  his trust in God and his dependence on Him.  Even Hezekiah, who was this man who tried to do what was right to the eyes of the Lord, faced a great struggle that arose against him. (2 Kings 18:19-25)
Continuing reading, we see the outcome miracle provided by God. We learn a lot from Hezekiah, because as him, we are people who believe in the power of God, who we will also see the deliverances that God will provide for our lives.
    Hezekiah´s strategies to win:
    1. Silence (II Kings 18:36). So don´t murmur, never complain! (Philippians 2:14, I Peter 2:1, James 3:2);
    2. Close the doors (II Cr. 32:2-4). Take care of your doors: mouth, eyes, ears
    3. Search for strength. (II Cr. 32:5) Build a “wall” around you
    4. Prepare weapons (Cr II 32:5) Our war is different, so are our weapons. (II Corinthians 10:3-4, Ephesians 6:10-17)
The strategies of the enemy are like those of Sennacherib.
    1. Satan tempts you away from the body of the church. He seeks to take our confidence in our leader ( II Kings 18:28-30, Romans 13:1-2)
    2. He tries to take our trust in God (2 Kings 18:35). Never forget who God is. (I Chronicles 29:11)
God provided a victory for His people, and sent an angel from heaven so that the war was won. (2 Kings 19:35) Hezekiah was humbled by the words of Sennacherib and his men, but he never stopped trusting in the Lord. So He was exalted and  recognized today as one of the great kings of Judah.
Andy you? Against humiliation, what you did? Did you depart, murmuring? Or have believed in Him who calls you, loves you and fights for you?
We understand that in our journey towards heaven the Lord is on our side, fighting our war... Amen? We also know that the victory is already ours. Amen? And what God says?
    Hey you! BE A BLESSING!
If He says to me this, why sometimes I can not be a blessing?
Because, if God tells me to do it, it is because He knows  that I am able to do so. In fact, when God gives a task that seems very difficult for us, most of the task He is the one who performs it... He calls me, shows me the cross, but He actually carries it while I myself do almost anything .
Just as Abram had many problems, like Abram was wrong in many attitudes, it is also our history. What is the difference of Abram? He throughout his journey struggled and showed commitment.
Our part in the walk can be basically summarized in: effort and commitment.
Three 3 basic characteristics of a blessed person:
    1.    INTEGRITY: James 4:7-1
    2.    COMPLIANCE: Genesis 22.1-18
    3.    PERSEVERANCE: Romans 12:1-2
Be faithful till the end, the blessing is coming!
You can be a blessing!  Absolutely!
The blessings of God is not about things, places or situations. It is about me and you. It's nice to be blessed with people, but they go away... And even lonely you need to be a blessing.
Much more than just receive blessings, God wants us to be a blessing in His hands.
If you ever have any trouble and never do anything wrong, if you are never persecuted and all speak well of you (Luke 6:26), then you are not living godly in Christ Jesus!
When you suffer persecution shows that you are doing the work! When followers of the devil began to scream, it shows that you're hitting him where it hurts! This shows that you are really in action, and the devil gets super mad!
Jesus himself was terribly persecuted and finally crucified for telling the truth and show God's love to the world, and He said: "The disciple is not more than the Master. If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you!" (Matt. 10:24, John 15:20)
Therefore, "Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you!" (Mat.5: 12) Jesus promised that if you suffer with Him, also reign with Him! (2Tim.2: 12)

So, will you reign for a while now and later suffer?
Or will you suffer a little now and reign forever?
