Every person and every nation has to learn in the school of adversity, in the school of God. "We can say, 'Blessed is the night because it makes us see the stars.' Likewise we can say, 'Blessed is the suffering, for it makes us see the consolation of God.' The floods brought down the home and the mill, all that the poor man had in life. But while contemplating the scene of his misery once downloaded waters, brokenhearted and discouraged, he saw something shining on the banks denuded by the waters. 'it seems gold, "he said. And it was gold. The flood made him rich. This often happens in life."
