Joshua 15:13-19
"In accordance with the Lord’s command to him, Joshua gave to Caleb son of Jephunneh a portion in Judah—Kiriath Arba, that is, Hebron. (Arba was the forefather of Anak.) From Hebron Caleb drove out the three Anakites—Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai, the sons of Anak. From there he marched against the people living in Debir (formerly called Kiriath Sepher). And Caleb said, “I will give my daughter Aksah in marriage to the man who attacks and captures Kiriath Sepher.” Othniel son of Kenaz, Caleb’s brother, took it; so Caleb gave his daughter Aksah to him in marriage. One day when she came to Othniel, she urged him to ask her father for a field. When she got off her donkey, Caleb asked her, “What can I do for you?” She replied, “Do me a special favor. Since you have given me land in the Negev, give me also springs of water.” So Caleb gave her the upper and lower springs."
What was the request made by Achsah ?
She was
determined in her request - asked and received water sources . She received from
her father much more than asked , because her father recognized that his daughter had
noble intentions in her order , and knew that the land would be well cared for
her.
What is the purpose of what you have asked God ?
- Achsah receives from his father sources of upper and lower water sources , it shows how the whole land of high ( mountain ) and low ( valleys ) would be blessed , the full range of her land would be irrigated by waters . So God blesses everything that belongs to you, all your territory. Is sealed from the north and south, east and west , everything that is under the promises of the Most High for you is blessed!
- Upper sources (high places / mountains ) : Good time, while this period you will be even more blessed. Lower sources ( Low Places / valleys) : Difficult times, tribulations, fights, diseases . The promise is that there will always be water to satisfy you, to support you in the evil days . Psalm 46:1-4
- We can also think of the upper and lower sources, such as physical and spiritual mercies . Earthly and heavenly provisions come from Him in Whom are all our springs.
