Stones and Sins

Some days  ago, I had a bad surprise: I woke up in great pain, I was admitted immediately in a hospital. After a few examinations they found a stone in my right ureter, so I underwent surgery to remove the calculus.

You can not imagine the awful pain I felt. It's almost unbelievable what a 5mm stone can cause. I ended up in the operating room because of an object 328 times smaller than me.

After surgery, I found myself wondering what I could learn from that situation. God always has something to tell us. You have to have ears, eyes wide open. And we must ask God to help us keep our eyes and ears open. So I started praying And God said to me: “- This stone was hidden in you ... How long was it there? Can you tell me? Does anybody know? You never felt anything before, never realized, but it was there... So close to you, destroying you silently... This stone is like a hidden sin. A sin rooted in the depths of your soul...”

This was my meditation. And that´s what I want to share.  

What is sin? Sin is something that sets us away of God. (Isaiah 59:2)

And what about a secret sin?

Anyway, a hidden sin, undisclosed, untreated does not happen suddenly. There is an ongoing process throughout.

As my stone that did not arise from day to night in my kidney. I could have prevented the formation of this stone? Probably. Could be obedient and take 2 liters of water per day, but took no.

The Bible provides examples of hidden sins and their consequences, you can study after: David and Bathsheba (II Samuel 11), the sin of Achan (Joshua 7), and others.

The sin is hidden but its consequences are clear and immediate. Disobedience undermines the forces of man, because it fills his conscience. (Numbers 32:23).

Besides, to play hide and seek doesn´t work with God. It would be like trying to cover a wound with a tissue - sooner or later the filth would corrupt  the most expensive and beautiful fabric.

But, how will we be healed if we dont know that we are sick? How should I  take that stone from my body if I had not took an x-ray or an Ultrasound exam? Only after discovering the details of this stone, its location, its size, the extent of damage it caused, I could decide how to get rid of it.

And I didn´t  get rid of it alone, I needed medical help, because I'm not a doctor. I do not know how to do. The doctor knew exactly how.

But the doctor, even holding all the medical knowledge he  only could act from the moment I have authorized him to take care of me.

Likewise, God knows what to do. He is also the only one who can do. But He needs mine and yours authorization to act.

We then need to acknowledge our sin, our sinful nature and understanding that we have no power, give all to Jesus and recognize that we will only be cured or saved through Him.

 Following Jesus is the largest project that anyone can have, but this will require:

a.Given up of a life of sin,

b.Fellowship with Him, regardless of how you are today.  Do not expect to be a better person to walk with Jesus, He calls us the way we are. Jesus does not seek perfect people, He looks for people who require His presence. He looks for people who needs a spiritual surgery .

Everyday, God gives us a chance to recognize our guilt, to be restored... A chance to confess...

Today is another day of forgiveness, not punishment!
God is speaking to our hearts and I wish we know how to hear Him!

History of Duck

There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm and he was given a slingshot to play in the woods.
He practiced in the forest, but could never hit the target.
Discouraged, he returned to dinner, when he saw Grandma's pet duck, and a boost, hit the duck's head and killed him.
Shocked, sad and in a panic, he hid the dead duck in the woodpile!
Sally (her sister) had seen everything, but she said nothing.
After lunch the next day Grandma said, "Sally, let's wash the dishes"
But Sally said, "Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen"
She then whispered to his brother: "Remember the duck?"
So Johnny did the dishes.
Later that day when Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing and Grandma said "excuse me, but I need Sally to help make dinner."
Sally just smiled and said, "I go because Johnny told me he wanted to help with dinner." Again he whispered in the ear of his brother: "Remember the duck?"
So Sally went fishing and Johnny stayed to help.

After several days of Johnny doing the work of Sally, he finally had enough.
He came to Grandma and confessed that he had killed the duck.
Grandma knelt down, gave him a hug and said:
"Honey, I know ... I was in the window and saw the whole thing, but because I love you, I have forgiven you. I was just wondering how long you would let Sally make a slave of you."

To Consider:
Whatever your background, what you have done ... The devil keeps throwing it in your face (lying, cheating, debt, fear, bad habits, hatred, anger, bitterness, etc.) ... Whatever ... You need to know that:

God was standing at the window and saw the whole thing!

He saw your whole life ... He wants you to know that He loves you and you are forgiven. He's just wondering how long you will let the devil make you a slave.
The great thing about God is that when you ask for forgiveness, He not only forgives,
but He forgets.
It is by grace and mercy of God we are saved.
Go ahead and make a difference in your life and someone else.
Always remember:
God is at the window!

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:7)
