- Who was Martha?
o The leader of the house
o The older sister
o The one with the strongest personality
o The one responsible for almost everything
o She was the head: giving orders, capable, well-organized
- Who was Mary?
o The younger sister
o Mary could help and be responsible for some functions, but the ruler was the older sister
o Mary forgot everything to listen Jesus
o She was grateful ad happy in the presence of Jesus
o She gave priority to the Kingdom of God. He, in the first place
- Who are you?
- What are your dreams?
- We want to be like Mary. But we live like Martha.
- Jesus teaches us that the best part is available to everybody. But we have so many things to do...
- The world says: Do more! Do something extraordinary!
- God says: Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalms 46:10
- What would I do if I knew I was about to miss God´s best for me?
- Where does the motivation to serve comes: from me or from God?
- Looking to Martha
o If they came from God: she wanted to put everything to Jesus
o If came from Martha: care with her reputation
o Maybe it was just the habit, almost an addiction
- Jesus said to Martha one thing is needful!
o You ought to know Me!
o Do not overdo it. You can not do everything, but can do a single thing. It may not be able to satisfy all needs and all, but can certainly, through the help of the Holy Spirit, satisfy the will of God that is to be the center of your life.
o You may not be able to carry all the burdens, but can only carry the burden that God has set aside for you to carry. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:30)
So, pray you have the willingness of Martha, but Mary's heart!
